Episode 173: Indigenous Wisdom Conversations: The Female Frequency of Being with Juliana Guerrero

indigenous wisdom podcast Jun 17, 2026

What changes the day you stop asking someone else for the answer and finally ask yourself?

In this conversation — the second of two — Julia Carmen sits back down with her granddaughter, Juliana Guerrero, to follow a thread all the way back to where so much of this work lives: our ancestors, our heritage, and what Julia calls the *female frequency of being*. Not a rejection of male energy, but the creative force — the part of us that makes and remakes the world — that has been squashed for a long time and is waking back up. Juliana speaks to how the women before us carry the ancestral wisdom forward, generation by generation, and how leaning back on those who walked the path first is what keeps us awake when the times feel heavy.

At the heart of the episode is a story Juliana has carried for years. At a retreat at Dancing Spirit Ranch in Montana, she set out to lead the group to a ceremony site and, somewhere in the vastness, lost the way. The moment she asked her busy mind, "do I know where I'm going?" the flow broke. So she stopped. She breathed. And in the stillness a little girl appeared on a lavender trail and said, *I know where it is — come this way.* Juliana ran like she had run her whole life, floating, both worlds folding into one. Watching from the rise, Julia's sister saw a white-tailed deer leaping through the woods — until the others said, *no, that's Juliana,* and in that split second the deer became the girl. Julia names what that is: a witness. Sometimes we need someone to see the truth alongside us so we can trust that what we felt was real.

From there the conversation opens into the practice of it — soul listening and the four frequencies of being (the busy mind, judgment, and paying attention are human and good; soul listening runs underneath, 24/7, never random, specific to each of us). They talk about bringing the old into the new and the new into the old, the medicine of community, and Juliana's quiet turn: *maybe I don't have to ask my grandma — maybe I need to ask myself, and hear it for me.* It lands where Julia always lands. You are the genius of you. You are the magic of you. Be still, and listen.

This completes the two-part conversation that began in Episode 172. If something came up for you while you listened — a question for Juliana, or for Julia — send it to theschoolwithoutwalls.net; they may take it up next time.

*"It's seeing yourself and being able to recognize who you are — and no one else can tell you who that is."*
